Hoeger, Bonnie Marie Carlson
Bonnie Marie Carlson Hoeger, 60, of Dyersville, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at her home. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where a parish Scripture service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Dennis Quint.
Bonnie was born on Jan. 23, 1950, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Eloise Carlson. She graduated from Yorkwood High School with the class of 1968 and received her nursing degree from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Ill., where she was an obstetric nurse for 25 years. Bonnie married David Girdler and they had three children, Trent, Kati and Kyle. In 1997, she married Jerry Hoeger and moved to Dyersville, Iowa.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; three children, Trent Girdler of Eldridge, Kati (J.R.) Knaub and Kyle (fiancee Amber Wiedeman) Girdler, both of Sterling, Colo.; two grandchildren, Keaton and Kole Knaub; five stepchildren, Connie (Dan) Carlson of Powder Springs, Ga., Traci (Bill) Jennings of Story City, Steve (Naomi) Hoeger, Terry (Rochelle) Hoeger, all of Dyersville, and Kurt (Tammy) Hoeger of Winona, Minn.; 19 stepgrandchildren; one brother, Dan (Jennie) Carlson of Kankokee, Ill.; one sister, Rita (Dale) Rothzen of Kirwood, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be given to the Dyersville Garden Club.
