Darrow, Trent 'Wimp'
Trent “Wimp” Darrow, 51, of Hopkinton, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 9, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a sudden illness. Friends may call from 4 until 7 this evening at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where a private family service will be held following visitation.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Surviving are his wife, Angela; two stepchildren, Nyoaka Clark, Manchester, and Ricky Clark, Hopkinton; a grandson, Blake; his sister, Luane “Sis” Sly, Hopkinton; two brothers, Dasil (Beverly) Darrow, Waverly, and Steve (Pham) Darrow, Monticello; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Trent Wade Darrow was born March 21, 1956, at the John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, Iowa. He was the son of Duane and Beverly Ann Buresh Darrow. Wimp graduated from the Maquoketa Valley Community Schools with the class of 1976. Wimp and his mother operated the B&W Bar in Hopkinton for several years. He spent the rest of his working career driving. He drove a milk route for Larry Jasper, then a test sample route for the Swiss Valley Creamery. He finished his driving career as a short haul driver for Trans Star Trucking at Strawberry Point. His health caused him to retire in 2005. Wimp had served on the Hopkinton City Council. He had also been an avid scuba diver for many years.
