Officials release name of man killed in accident near Central City

A Cedar Rapids man died after a mattress flew out of a pickup truck and hit him while he was riding his motorcycle.
John Saddler, 73, was riding north on Prairieburg Road, about 3 miles east of Central City. The Linn County Sheriff's office says Saddler met a pickup, pulling a trailer heading south. A mattress flew out of the trailer, knocking Saddler off the motorcycle. He died at the scene.
Charges are pending against the driver of the pickup, 55-year-old Roger Ockensfels.
