Hunter, Leota I.
Leota I. Hunter, 97, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Winfield and Mount Pleasant, died Saturday evening at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. The daughter of Charles and Jessie (Griffith) Long, she was born Nov. 18, 1911 near Crawfordsville.
She worked at the Iowa Ammunition Plant in Middletown for 25 years.
Survivors include: one daughter, Wilma VanOsdol of Burlington; 8 grandchildren, and several great and great-great grandchildren; one brother, Keith Long of Mount Pleasant;
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Betty Starr, three brothers and one sister.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 10 to
10:45 a.m. at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery, with Rev. Nancy Bender officiating.
A memorial has been established for the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House.
