Simons, Nathan Christian
Nathan Christian Simons, 15, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at his Mount Vernon home. A visitation for Nathan will be Monday from 3:30 until 7:30 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home, Mount Vernon. Nathan's funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Antioch Christian Church, Marion. The burial will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Cemetery in Bellevue.
Nathan is survived by his parents, Larry and Kim, and two sisters, Rachel and Sarah, all of Mount Vernon; maternal grandparents, Dewey and Linda Brown of Central City; and paternal grandparents, Cecil and Arlene Simons of Bellevue.
Nathan was born Aug. 16, 1995, in Cedar Rapids. Nathan was a freshman at Mount Vernon High School, where he participated in chorus, played football, baseball, ran track, and wrestled, earning a varsity letter.
He enjoyed attending youth group activities. Nathan loved hunting with his Dad, vacationing with his family, and hanging out with his sisters and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in Nathan's honor.
