MARIAN "JACKIE" SEROVY

Marian "Jackie" Serovy, 91 of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at her home. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at All Saints Catholic Church, where visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Solon. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Marian was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Mill Run, Pa., the daughter of Ischmel and Dora (Arsenberger) Bigham. Marian was united in marriage to Donald Serovy on May 29, 1948, in Washington, D.C. She worked as an ICU nurse at Mercy Medical Center, retiring Nov. 29, 1987.
Jackie enjoyed golfing, playing cards, crafting, volunteering and spending time with her family.
Marian is survived by her children, Don Serovy (Carol Weger) of Cedar Rapids, Dana (Pam) Serovy of Marion and Craig (Patty) Serovy of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Nick (Jen) Serovy, Melinda (Cody) Kreis and Mark Serovy; and her sister, Ruth Brezo of Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald G. Serovy; as well as her siblings.
Memorials may be directed to either All Saints Catholic Church or Hospice of Mercy in her name.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Rene, CeCe, Denise and Christi for their compassionate care and understanding for Jackie.
