Gail, Janet
Janet Gail, 59, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, at First Assembly of God Church, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Larry Sohn. The family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at the church. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Rick Gail; her children, Amanda (Scott) Slaymaker of Hiawatha and Neal Gail of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Gillian Grochala; and numerous relatives and family, especially her nieces and nephews, who she greatly loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Janet was born June 1, 1953, the daughter of John and Ruby Varner, in Keokuk, Iowa. On March 9, 1974, she was united in marriage to Rick Gail in Keokuk. Janet was a member of First Assembly of God Church. A homemaker, Janet “loved” to shop. Memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Janet.
