Notre Dame closes it out, so the chance for a euphoric day in Hawkeye country to be even better passes.
For the second straight night, Iowa turned a double-digit deficit into a second-half lead and couldn't hang on.
The Hawkeyes trailed by as much as 17 before taking a one-point lead with 9:45 to play.
V.J. Beacham led four Irish in double figures with 16 points, including a 4-of-9 mark from outside.
Jarrod Uthoff had a game-high 20 for the Hawkeyes while Adam Woodbury and Mike Gesell each contributed 14.
The Hawkeyes, marred by a rough 33.3 mark in the first half, shot 37.9 percent for the game, and were 6-for-24 from beyond the arc. Notre Dame connected on 45.5 percent of its field-goal attempts.

For the second straight night, Iowa has rallied from a double-digit deficit to take a second-half lead.
A 16-0 run puts the Hawkeyes up one just over midway through the second half.
The Irish answer with Demetrius Jackson's turn-around jumper, but it looks like we'll have another exciting finish in store.

The Irish shot 46.7 percent from the field, including 6-of-15 from 3-point range, in the first 20 minutes while the Hawkeyes connected on just 33.3 percent of their attempts.
Notre Dame's V.J. Beachem led all scorers with 11 points while Iowa's Jarrod Uthoff had 10.
Iowa got out to a 7-1 lead and led 12-5 before Notre Dame went on a 16-3 run to go up 21-15 with 7:46 to play in the first half.
It was 24-19 before a 15-3 run gave the Irish their largest lead at 39-22 with 2:20 remaining. Uthoff's three and layup trimmed the margin heading to the locker rooms.
