Obama, Ryan to visit Iowa next week
Oct. 20, 2012 7:30 pm
President Barack Obama will return to Iowa on Wednesday, his campaign said in a news release Saturday.
The president will kick off his national “America Forward!” tour on Wednesday in Davenport. Doors will open at 8 a.m. at the Quad on the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, 2815 West Locust Street.
The visit will come two days after the third and final presidential debate between Obama and his Republican challenger, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
From Iowa, the president will travel to Denver Colo., Las Vegas, Tampa, and Richmond. He will then go to Chicago, where he will cast his ballot, marking the first time a sitting president has voted early in person. The tour will wrap up in Cleveland.
The president will not be the only one visiting Iowa next week. Republican Vice Presidential nominee Paul Ryan will visit a Bass Pro Shop at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in Council Bluffs. Doors open at 10 a.m. Ryan then will travel to Bev's on the River in Sioux City for an event with singer Mark Wills at 3:15 p.m. Doors in Sioux City open at 1:15 p.m.
