CHARLOTTE MARIE KURIGER
Cedar Rapids
Charlotte Marie Kuriger passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at The Meth-Wick Community. Per Charlotte's request, there will be no service. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Elmwood Cemetery in Waterloo. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is caring for Charlotte and her arrangements.
Charlotte Marie (Goswiller) Kuriger was born Oct. 19, 1921, to Grover P. and Hazel F. (Brown) Goswiller. She graduated from West Waterloo Schools in 1939. She married the love of her life and best friend, Roger Kuriger, on July 3, 1942.
Charlotte worked for Simmons Perrine as a legal secretary for 17 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 50 years. She taught Sunday school and served as church clerk for many years. Together, she and Roger enjoyed bowling, golfing and traveling. They eventually made their home in The Meth-Wick Community at The Manor. Charlotte made many wonderful friends there. She became quite the socialite, and even was nicknamed "Queen Victoria" of her dining table.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Left to cherish Charlotte's memory are her three nieces, Michelle Wenger of North Carolina, Nancy Scott of Washington and Marilyn Ventarude of Florida; and a very special friend, Sonja (Joe) Novak.
Memorials may be directed to the Meth-Wick Community in memory of Charlotte.
