Regional HR Activities Receive EXCEL Platinum Award

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has awarded the Iowa Senior Human Resources Association (ISHRA) the EXCEL Platinum Award for 2012. To achieve this award, ISHRA must meet a set of criteria required in the SHRM Affiliate Program for Excellence.

“We are honored to receive this distinction, which recognizes our efforts to help senior and executive level HR professionals provide human resources excellence to the employees and employers we serve. Now, more than ever, the human resources function is critical to business success and we have to perform at a very high level,” states ISHRA President, Russ Curry, SPHR. Mr. Curry is Vice President/Director of Human Resources with West Music in Coralville.

This past year ISHRA partnered with The University of Iowa and Mt. Mercy University student HR chapters to provide mentorship, hosted HR continuing education opportunities including an SPHR conference, and provided employment guidance for the Anamosa State Prison release program.
