Robins man hurt after swerving to miss deer

Authorities said a Robins man was hurt when the vehicle he was driving went off the road after he swerved to miss a deer late Sunday.
Brandon J. Adams, 31, of Robins, was northbound on North Mentzer Road, just north of the Robins city limits, around 11:20 p.m. when the accident happened, according to the Linn C0unty Sheriff's Office. Adams swerved to miss the deer, entered the east ditch and hit a utility pole, deputies said.
Adams was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, authorities said. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
