Nov. 14, 2010 10:05 pm
Michael Parks and Sam Warning had goals to help the United States to a 6-4 win over Canada East in the gold medal game of the World Junior A Challenge international hockey tournament Sunday at Penticton, British Columbia. It's the third consecutive gold medal at the tourney for the U.S., whose roster is comprised of United States Hockey League players.
The United States trailed going to the third period, 4-3, but scored three unanswered goals. Warning assisted on the game tying goal from Austin Czarnik of the Green Bay Gamblers with 4:33 left. Jimmy Mullin's (Fargo) unassisted goal 40 seconds later put the U.S. on top, and Parks scored an empty netter with a minute left.
Defenseman Tommy Fallen and forward Cason Hohmann of the RoughRiders also were on the U.S. team.
