Ramsey, Ronald 'Ron'

Ronald “Ron” Ramsey, 59, of Decorah, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Decorah Lutheran Church, 309 Winnebago St., Decorah, with the Rev. Doug Blair presiding. Burial will be in the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ossian. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Schluter Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Ave., Decorah, and also after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Ron is survived by wife, Ardith Stockman; his children, Rachel (Ramsey) and Charlie Walker, Nevada and Ryan Ramsey, Ridgeway, Melissa (Stockman) Davis, Iowa City, and McKenzie Stockman, Ridgeway; grandchildren, Dexter, Eli and Myka Walker and Aiden and Hunter Davis; his mother, LaVerne Ramsey, Decorah; two sisters, Rosie Ramsey, Decorah, and Beverly Nelson, Postville; brother, David Ramsey, Decorah; and Ardith's loving family, Lyla Molkken, Clermont, Norman Osmundson, Marion, Gaylord and Barb Osmundson, Cedar Rapids, and Davie and Diane Lensing, Postville.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Ramsey on Dec. 10, 2009; grandparents, Edwin and Leona Brynsaas and Gilbert and Olga Ramsey; along with the family dog, Coach Ramsey.
