David Francis Wilgenbusch, 64, of Cedar Rapids, died at his home on July 12, 2018. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Jude Catholic Church by the Rev. Mark Murphy. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. A vigil service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Tuesday after 9 a.m. at the church.
Dave is survived by his sons, Gary (Rochelle) of Grimes and Eric of Waterloo; grandchildren, Kennedy and Emersyn; brothers, Charles (Paula) of Ryan, Mark (Dee) of Charles Town, W.Va., Leon of Manchester and Patrick of Masonville; sisters, Joyce (Dave) Hoover of Carol Stream, Ill., and Margaret (Eugene) Palmersheim of Greeley; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki, in 2001; his parents; brothers, Paul and Gerald; and sister, Judy Martin.
Dave was born on Sept. 28, 1953, in Manchester, the son of Emil and Helen Goedken Wilgenbusch, and graduated in 1971 from West Delaware High School, Manchester. On June 16, 1984, he married Vicki Ann Backen in Cedar Rapids. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
Dave was an Iowa Hawkeyes fan and enjoyed gardening, church activities, and spending time with family and friends. He will be missed.
