Lavon (Franck) Kelley, 76, of Hiawatha, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at Crestview Acres, Marion. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the funeral home. Burial: Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Lavon is survived by her husband, Veryl; daughter, Lori (Gary) LaKose of Marion; son, Lonnie Kelley of Hiawatha; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Irene Wilson; brother, Donald Franck; and granddaughter, Kiera.
Lavon was born Feb. 2, 1940, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of George and Mabel (Elet) Franck. On May 23, 1959, in Hazleton, Lavon was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Veryl Kelley. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and dancing with Veryl for over 60 years. Lavon's greatest joy and love were her family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her memory.
