Orlene M. Maher, 75, of Iowa City, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Her family will greet friends Friday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m.
The family kindly requests instead of flowers, memorials be directed to the Orlene Maher Memorial Fund.
Orlene worked for over 30 years at the Iowa City Press-Citizen.
Orlene is survived by her children, John (Char) Maher and Scott Maher, both of Iowa City, Patricia (Randall) Damon of Des Moines and Mike Maher of Arkansas; a brother and sister, Owen and Odessa; her granddaughters, Janice, Teresa, Amanda and Caitlyn; a great-grandson, Paul; and another great-grandson scheduled to be arriving soon.
