VOTE TODAY ON LINN SUPERVISORS — Linn County residents can head to their polling sites today to decide how future members of the Board of Supervisors are elected. NO RAISES FOR UNIVERSITY PRESIDENTS — The Iowa Board of Regents' university presidents won't get pay raises this year — for a second year in a row — after a rocky Legislative session slashed state support for higher education and prompted last minute tuition hikes. That decision — which was mutually agreed upon by the university presidents and regent leadership — will save the institutions both money and public critique as they continue to shift their cost burden from the state to students and families. LeGRAND CAPTAINS CLASS 2A STATE BASEBALL — Riley LeGrand was just grand for Team Jenk this season and has been rewarded for it. The senior infielder from Dyersville Beckman is the captain of the Class 2A all-state baseball team, it has been announced. The all-state teams are sponsored by the Iowa Newspaper Association.
