Reiner, Ralph V.
Ralph V. Reiner, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Sept. 26, 2009, at his home surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church Faith and Life Center, with the Rev. Jonathan Swenson officiating. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Ralph Vincent Reiner was born April 23, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Vincent and Fannie Phillips Reiner. Ralph proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Anna Ruth With on June 2, 1946. Ralph completed his education at Case-Western Reserve University of Cleveland and the U.S. Naval Academy. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta and Blue Key Society. He was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Ruth; a son, Van (Shirley) Reiner of Baltimore, Md.; a daughter, Ann Reiner of Portland, Ore.; four grandchildren, Timothy (Mayuka) Reiner of Zurich, Switzerland, Rebecca (Daniel Gorham) Reiner of Boston, David (Sarah) Reiner Geneva, New York, and Diana Martin Los Angeles; and two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Zachary.
Memorial donations may be made to Camp Courageous or St. Mark's Lutheran Building Fund.
