Jones, Kirk Wade 'Jonesy'
Kirk Wade “Jonesy” Jones, 48, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 24, 2012. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home by Pastor Kurt Veenstra. Friends may visit Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday after 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Kirk is survived by his parents, Glen D and Donna Jones of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Dianne Vincent and her fiance, Kevin McGrath of Ainsworth; three brothers, Joel of Paquoson, Va., Brian of Marion and Michael (Hollis) Jones of Lincolnwood, Ill.; three nieces, Jamie (Jason) Bryant and Adrianne and Abagale Jones; four nephews, Adam (Amy) Vincent and Joseph, Nicholas and Spencer Jones; four great-nephews, Jiovani Jones, Aydan Vincent and Jonas and Jameson Bryant; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Kirk was born Sept. 7, 1963, in Des Moines, the son of Glen D. and Donna Hand Jones. He graduated from Jefferson High School and worked in construction where he was known for his expertise in drywall finishing. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Kirk enjoyed the outdoors, especially trout fishing and deer hunting.
He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by his loved ones and friends.
He was fun-loving, caring, and would do anything for anyone.
