Gerald A. Walkup, 91, of Coralville, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa
City, where visitation will be one hour before services Monday. Burial with military honors will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Gerald was born June 12, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Perry and Alcie (Baker) Walkup. Being raised in Marion, he attended and graduated from school there. During World War II, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. On March 27, 1954, he was united in marriage to Donna Moss. The couple made their home in Iowa City at this time where they have lived in the area since. For nearly 30 years Gerald worked at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, retiring in 1991.
Gerald was a member of the DAV and VFW and the state and national groups of the Trappers Association. He enjoyed many things in life: the outdoors, hunting, fishing and trapping; anything to do with Native American history, and most of all, his family – he loved them dearly!
His family includes his wife, Donna; and their three children, Constance Walkup, Robert Walkup and Dennis Walkup.
