Iowa State tight end suspended
Iowa State's Kurt Hammerschmidt has been suspended indefinitely after the red-shirt freshman tight end was arrested this week on a charge of drunken driving.
Hammerschmidt, 20, was stopped Monday by ISU Police, according to records.
“I have indefinitely suspended Kurt Hammerschmidt from our football program for a violation of team rules,” ISU Coach Paul Rhoads said in a statement issued by ISU.
