To the editor:
Thank you, Dave!
I'm really proud of our District 2 Congressman Dave Loebsack. Perhaps a little surprising coming from a Cedar County Republican, but stay with me. Loebsack was easily re-elected last November, when many incumbents were shown the gate. He already has moved on to make the 114th Congress get to work and he has earned my vote.
Thanks for staying in touch with your district, through your trips back to Iowa to communicate in person and hear our concerns.
Thanks for sponsoring legislation to eliminate automatic pay raises and reduce Congressional pay by 10 percent. Thanks for joining your colleagues from Iowa to pass the 'Small Business Tax Relief Act” and the 'Fighting Hunger Incentive Act” in February.
Thanks for becoming a 'No Labels” Problem Solver. No Labels is a national movement of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents dedicated to a new politics of active problem solving. With over 70 members it is the third largest caucus in Washington. No Labels seeks to end legislative gridlock through greater transparencies, focus on areas of bipartisan agreement, and return to serious debate and sensible decision-making.
Thanks for supporting development of a comprehensive energy policy focused on increased energy security, expanding environmentally-responsible development of all energy resources, and future investment in clean, renewable, sustainable and efficient energy supplies. Your recent appointment to membership in the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee will provide a strong voice for Iowans on these important topics.
For these reasons, Loebsack deserves our continued thanks and bipartisan support.
