Catharine E. Licht, 87, of Lowden, died Saturday, July 11, 2015, in the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lowden, by the Rev. Daniel Redhage. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.
Catharine was born June 24, 1928, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Anna Henricks Oltmanns. She married Alvin Licht on March 21, 1965, in Anamosa.
Catharine was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Ladies Aid.
She was a caring person who put others before herself and a loving wife and mother. Catharine used her faith to help her with her problems of the day.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin of Lowden; son, Noel (Robin) of Cedar Rapids; daughter-in-law, Deborah Licht of Parkview; grandchildren, Brianne, Ryan, Addison, Emily, Andrew and Ashley; sisters, Emma Lange and Annie (Edgar) Hintz of Lowden and Alberta Boysen of Marion; brother, Ervin (Marcia) Oltmanns of Marion; sister-in-law, Rosie Oltmanns of Anamosa; and brother-in-law, Martin Winch of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Matthew; two brothers, Ludwig and Henry; and two sisters, Martha and Lena.
