She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Norma Lou Brodersen.
Peggy was born Feb. 19, 1932, in Wyoming, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Valda Moore Barber. She attended Iowa State University, where she met the love of her life, Laurence Hungerford Jr. Her irrepressible spirit of adventure led her to New Jersey and a stint as a flight attendant for United Airlines. After she and Larry were married on Nov. 23, 1953, they moved to Cedar Rapids, where Larry began his career at Collins Radio/Rockwell Collins.
Peggy was a faithful member of Westminster Presbyterian church, where she had been a choir mother and a deacon. She dedicated so much to her family, traveling with Larry, and volunteering for church, the Indian Creek Nature Center, and so many other community activities.
Her countless friends and family will miss her dearly and her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to Westminster Presbyterian Church or Indian Creek Nature Center.
