Irene Doris Ford, 89, of Lone Tree, passed away at her home on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at the United Presbyterian Church of Lone Tree. Burial will be in Lone Tree
Cemetery. Following the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at United Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.
Memorials may be directed to the Historical Society and United Presbyterian Church of Lone Tree in Irene's name.

Irene Doris Petru was born Nov. 27, 1925, in Iowa, the daughter of Ernest Y. and Maudie J. (Watkinson) Petru. Irene was united in marriage on Sept. 16, 1944, in Iowa City to Walter "Reid" Ford. She was a cake decorator for Barbara's Bakery in Iowa City for many years.
Irene was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Lone Tree, where she was a deaconess, and served on the United Presbyterian Women's Association. She was a member of the Lone Tree Historical Society.
Irene will be deeply missed by her son, Michael R. Ford of Swisher; granddaughter, Annette; brother, Jack Petru of Lime Springs; two brothers-in-law, Lester Bell of Lone Tree and Robert Colbert of Riverside; and several nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reid, in 1994; one grandson; one brother; and five sisters.
