Ringling Brothers made right decision

To the editor:
I was glad to read the article about the elephants no longer being used in Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus acts.
Many years ago I was at the Royal Hanneford Circus in Des Moines. I could see out one of the doors that a circus employee was poking a tiger with an electric cattle prod to make it get up. When it came into the arena the tiger collapsed. Apparently paralyzed. Everyone was asked to leave the arena. I still regret not speaking up, but bravo to those who do.
