Thomas Jones Jr., 66, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital from a short illness. Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Gospel Tabernacle Church. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel and after noon Monday at the church.

Survivors include his fiancee, Ethel M. Turner; his children, Toni Marie Dixon of Illinois, Yolando S. Jones, Thomas E. Jones, Sharon D. Walker, Natarsha L. Keith and Jamie N. Patterson, all of Milwaukee, Wis.; his siblings, Michael Davis of Cedar Rapids, Ronald Jones of Clinton, N.C., and Karen Marie Jones of Cedar Rapids; and an uncle, David Jackson of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Timothy Jones and Reginald Jones.

Thomas was born Jan. 8, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Odella (Jackson) Jones. He was employed at Mercy Medical Center, owner of Maddie's Place in Cedar Rapids and was a member of the Blue Society. At a very young age he accepted Christ and remained faithful to Him.

Thomas was a very loving person. His family was very important to him and he was a mentor to all. Thomas always put his heart in his work and thought of others before himself.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
