Wilkerson, Marvin Wendell
Marvin Wendell Wilkerson, 83, of West Branch, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 10 a.m. at Fry Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date. Online condolences may be shared at . A memorial has been established in his memory.
Marvin Wendell Wilkerson, son of Robert Lee and Anna Mabel Burroughs Wilkerson, was born June 8, 1927. He was a 1945 graduate of Springdale High School. Marvin served his country in the Merchant Marines. On August 1, 1948, Marvin was united in marriage to Donna Belle Tisinger in Tipton, Iowa. Marvin was a farmer and retired from the University of Iowa where he was employed as a painter at the Oakdale Campus. He was a member of the Moscow United Methodist Church, Experimental Aircraft Association and Cedar County Coop.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Donna Wilkerson of West Branch, Iowa; daughter, Phyllis (Joseph) Duster of North Liberty, Iowa; sons, Dean (Pam) Wilkerson of West Branch, Iowa, James (Deborah) Wilkerson of Wichita, Kansas; and grandchildren, Jackie, Debra (Mike), Michael (Angela), Quentin (Stephanie), Austin; great-grandchildren, Katelyn, William, Allie, Mady, Nicholas, and Anthony. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, LaMar Wilkerson; and sister, Louise Clemmens.
