Miller, Margaret 'Bea'
Margaret “Bea” Miller, 88, of the Solon Care Center in Solon, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully with her family by her side at the Solon Care Center on Tuesday, May 18, 2010. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Perry Cruse will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 tonight.
Survivors include a son, Earl (Arlene) of North Liberty; and a sister, Sandy Brundidge of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by five grandchildren, DeAlleyn Wyman, Stefanie Rossmeisl, Larry, Chad and Jason Miller; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Robert Wickham; and three sisters, Ruth Annis, Barbara Shepard and Hope Blackwell.
Bea was born Feb. 19, 1922, in Hawkeye, the daughter of John and Vivian Shook Wickham. She graduated from West Union High School and married Laurence Earl Miller on June 13, 1942, in Canton, Mo. He died in 1991. Bea was a bacon slicer at Wilson and Co., for over 43 years, retiring in 1980.
She was a member of several bowling leagues. Bea enjoyed collecting Avon, elephants, shopping and time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial donations may be given to Iowa City Hospice in Bea's name.
