Marti, Connie
Connie Marti, 62, of Central City, Neb., died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center, Grand Island, Neb. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Solt Funeral Home, Central City, with the Rev. Mike Bremer officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment: Central City Cemetery. Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of the arrangements.

Connie was born on Feb. 24, 1948, in Anamosa, Iowa, to Burley L. and Beulah F. (VanVoltenburg) Dayton. She grew up in Cedar Rapids, and received her education there. On May 6, 1967, Connie Dayton and Gary Marti were united in marriage in Iowa. They made their home in the Springville and Cedar Rapids area and Connie worked as a nurse's aide. They moved to Central City, Neb., in 1983.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gary Marti; her daughter, Tara Marti Lindburg; her three grandchildren, Kristian, Kane and Kamrie Lindburg, all of Central City; brother, John Dayton of St. Louis; six sisters,- Janice and Bill Elliott and Mary Dodge and Mark Wordehoff, all of Shellsburg, Vivian Peterson and Regina Dayton, both of Cedar Rapids, and Alice Dayton and Vicky Dayton, both of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Marti Jepsen; her son, Shane Marti; her parents; her stepfather, Otto Gerjets; and two brothers, Melvin and Ernie Dayton.
