Share, Donald G. Sr.
Donald G. Share Sr., 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. by the Rev. Barb Furman. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life: Teamster Hall, 5000 J St. SW, starting at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Shirley; three sons, Donald (Sheryl) Jr. of Ames, Ronald (Leah) of Cedar Rapids and Robert of Cedar Rapids; a grandson, Matthew Alexander (Jennifer Grow) of Norfolk, Va.; his mother, Opal Roller of Marengo; his mother-in-law, Ruth Beck of Belle Plaine; and his cat, Smoke.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father-in-law, Dale Beck.
Donald was born Jan. 22, 1938. He was raised by Charles “Red” and Beulah Fowler. On March 5, 1960, he married Shirley Beck in Ladora. Don and Shirley owned and operated the Dairy Queen at Wilson and Bowling for 18 years. He was also a body man and car dealer.
Donald was a car enthusiast. He loved street rods. He was a good caring man and provider who was generous to everyone.
