The Anamosa State Penitentiary was put on lockdown for a period of time on Thursday because of a fight among inmates, said Fred Scaletta, a spokesman for the Iowa Department of Corrections.
Scaletta said two prison employees sustained minor injuries while breaking up the scuffle. He said no employees or inmates were sent to the hospital for injuries. “All I can tell you is that we had some fights,” he said.
Scaletta said IDOC started an investigation and may release more information tomorrow. No other details were made available.
