Zobac, Karl F.
Karl F. Zobac, 58, of Glendale, Ariz., formally of Cedar Rapids, died Aug. 12, 2009, at Hospice Thunderbird Care Center of Glendale. Karl leaves behind his wife Mary; two daughters, Angela and Amanda, their husbands, Milton Olen and Charles Braun; and a granddaughter Zoe, along with his two sisters Karen and Kay.
Karl was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, attended Regis High School, and graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College. He then owned and operated Zobac Construction Co. in Cedar Rapids from 1972 through 1986. Relocating to Glendale, Ariz., he started and operated Mid Way General Construction until his untimely death.
Karl was an avid outdoorsman and shared his time and passion with his many close friends in both field and mountains. Karl will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and everyone who knew and spent time with him. Karl was a true friend to many.
A memorial has been established in Karl's name and may be sent to 6220 W. Shangrila Rd., Glendale, AZ 85304.
