Marjorie J. Leeney, 89, lifelong resident of Iowa City, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Coralville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. There will be an hour of visitation before the services at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established in her memory.

Marjorie Jane Graef was born June 10, 1928, in Iowa City, the daughter of Alfred and Virl (Schultz) Graef. She attended Iowa City schools, graduating from City High School, Class of 1946. She then attended the University of Iowa. For many years she worked for the university, for a time at the library, then at the hospitals.
She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed the many social gatherings throughout the years. Marjorie lived in the downtown area, which she enjoyed because of the "college life" that was always around her. Holidays and birthdays of family and friends were always a special time for her!
Her family includes her son, Stephen Leeney; grandchildren, Jennifer Adrian and her husband, James, and their daughter, Hannah; Daniel Leeney, Julie Leeney and David Leeney, and his son, Elias.
