JUDITH KINTZLE
Edgewood
Judith A. Kintzle, 72, was welcomed into the arms of The Lord, surrounded by her family, on Aug. 6, 2014, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Judith was born in Dubuque, Iowa, to Fred and Dorothy (Koppes) Schuster on Aug. 24, 1941. She graduated from St. Martin's High School in Cascade and attended Clark College in Dubuque.
Judith married Joseph Kintzle from Greeley on Oct. 13, 1962, at Sacred Heart Church in Fillmore. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2012. Judy and Joe farmed outside of Edgewood for the last 52 years and raised six children. Judy also was the director of religious education at St. Mark's Church in Edgewood for 10 years.
Judy was a devoted mother and wife who enjoyed her flower gardens, traveling, the red hat ladies, the casino, and her and Joe's card club with their close friends of 52 years. Judy's grandchildren brought her much joy and she was proud of their accomplishments.
She is survived by her husband, Joe; five daughters, Jody (Jim) Kerns of Edgewood, Denise Child of Cedar Falls, Lisa (Scott Hogue) Nickerson of Van Meter, Lori Kintzle of Cedar Rapids and Vicki (Nathan) Chupka of Cedar Falls; 20 grandchildren; her six siblings, Jim (Marge) Schuster of Bernard, Fred Schuster of Monticello, Dixie Schuster of Dubuque, Roger (Sabrina) Schuster of Dubuque, Connie (John) Kremer of Blue Grass and Molly Ripple of Urbandale; and many nieces and nephews.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Sharon Schilling; and an infant nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Multiple Myeloma Foundation or Regional Medical Center in Manchester.
