Cornell battles tough conditions at IIAC meet

Cornell's Dominic Rosati posted the team's first sub-80 round of the season in cold and windy conditions during the opening weekend of the Iowa Conference Men's Golf Championships Saturday and Sunday at Lake Creek Country Club.
Rosati stands in 29th place with a two-day total of 164 at the midway point of the tournament, which concludes April 29-30 at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City. The junior shot an opening-round 85 Saturday, followed by a 7-over par 79 Sunday.
The Rams are ninth in the team standings with a 723. Cornell carded a season-low 353 in the second round, after opening with a 370.
Sophomore Anthony Blashewski is tied for 40th with an 88-85-173. Corey Dieser shot 95-93-188, Mark Wyzgowski 102-96-198 and Ryan Roberts 104-102-206.
Central holds the 36-hole lead with a 313-289-602. Loras carded a 624, led by top individual Sam Herrmann's 146.
