Kremenak, Aldrich 'Al' J.
Aldrich “Al” J. Kremenak, 89, of Longwood, Fla., formerly of Cedar Rapids and Dubuque, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at his home in Longwood. Mass: 1 p.m. Dec. 2, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Burial will immediately follow at St. John's Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Charlotte (Bill) Gockel of Calamus, Lucinda (Curtis) Kruse of Calmar and Colleen (Dan) Terry of Longwood, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, Dolores “De” on Dec. 29, 1984; son, Allen on Sept. 26, 1961; and grandson, William Gockel Jr. on Aug. 1, 1978.
Al was born and raised in Cedar Rapids. He married De Simkavitz at St. Pat's on Aug. 12, 1944. De also graduated from St. Pat's School. Al was a watchmaker and jeweler in Cedar Rapids for many years and then he and his family settled in Dubuque.
