ELTEN "AL" D. REEVES JR.
Windsor Heights
Elten "Al" D. Reeves Jr., 88, passed away Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Iles Westover Chapel in Des Moines, where the family
will receive friends one hour before the service. Interment will take place at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
Al was born Nov. 20, 1926, in Des Moines to Elten Sr. and Clara (Jepsen) Reeves. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Broad on Nov. 27, 1947, in the Reeves family home. Al served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the Fanshaw Bay Carrier.
Al's work career began with F.W. Means and Co., Clean Towel Service. After retiring, he worked at Midwest Alarm Services and at the age of 80, retired again from Willis Auto Campus.
Survivors include his daughter, Sharon K. Reeves of Cedar Rapids.
Al was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
The family would like to thank Al's special friend, Char Rundall, whom he loved like a daughter, and the neighbors for all their love and support.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project or Westminster Presbyterian Church.
