ALBERT "AL" PAUL RINDERKNECHT

Albert "Al" Paul Rinderknecht, 91, of Marion, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marion. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Al was born July 23, 1927, in Atkins, the son of Albert and Minnie (Haerther) Rinderknecht. After graduation, Al enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. On Aug. 7, 1960, he was married to Bethel Burmeister at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Al worked for Sears as a department manager from 1944 to 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Bethel Rinderknecht; three children, Doug Rinderknecht, Tracy (Marvin) Young and Brad (Lee Ann) Rinderknecht; nine grandchildren, Sean, Taylor, Bethany, Jack, Katie, Ava, Sydney, Ashley and Cole; and a sister, Ruth Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Minnie; and brothers, Dean, Eugene, George, Dave and Paul.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to UnityPoint Hospice for their wonderful care of Al in his final days.
