Letter: Getting what you didn’t vote for

According to U.S. government statistics (which in most sectors does not qualify as fake news), only 60 percent of eligible voters bothered to cast a ballot in last year's presidential election.
The eventual winner of that election received 46 percent of the popular vote, meaning that barely one in four eligible voters cast their ballot in favor of the person who occupies the White House.
It causes one to wonder if the folks around the country who are screaming and protesting the loudest about what is coming down the pike from Washington these days are included in the roughly 96 million of our fellow citizens who didn't bother to cast a vote last fall.
