One injured in two vehicle accident on County Home Road

One person was transported to the hospital with injuries after a two vehicle accident Thursday afternoon on County Home Road just west of Highway 13.

According to a media release from the Linn County Sheriff's Office, emergency responders were dispatched at 1:31 p.m. to 2085 County Home Road for a two vehicle accident with injuries.

Once on the scene, emergency responders determined that a car driven by Heidi Liegl, 37, of Marion had been rear ended as she stopped on County Home Road to make a left turn into a driveway. According to the release, Liegl was hit by a truck driven by Lawrence Lynch, 66, of Robins as he was traveling east on the same road.

Both Liegl and Lynch were the only occupants of their vehicles and both were wearing their seat belts, according to the release. Police say Liegl was transported to St. Luke's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Linn County Deputies, Linn County Rescue 57 along with Marion Fire Department and Area Ambulance responded to the accident, according to the release.

The accident remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
