Nadermann, Constance 'Connie' P.
Constance “Connie” P. Nadermann, 79, of Dyersville, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a vigil service will be held at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate.
Connie was born Nov. 7, 1933, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of John and Vasiliki (Sakellaris) Sarris. She graduated from Morningside College in Sioux City in 1955 and then married James Nadermann on Feb. 21, 1957, in Dyersville. Connie taught English and Business Education at Northeast Iowa Community College, Western Dubuque High School in Epworth and Cascade, Beckman High School, Maquoketa Valley and Alton Consolidated. After she retired, she continued to substitute teach. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, WDEA, NEA and ISEA, Dyersville Garden Club, a tour guide at the Dyer House, Sit-n-Stitch and Friends of the Library.
Survivors include her husband, Jim; two daughters, Joan Nadermann of Spring, Texas and Kimberlee (Don) Knepper of Dyersville; grandchildren, Katie (Alan) Stillmunkes, Dana Knepper and Tyler Knepper; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Stillmunkes; a sister, Angie Irwin of Sioux City; and several brothers and-sisters-in-law, Eileen Rauen, Bernice Garretson, Imelda Smith, Germaine Reed, Tom (Helen) Nadermann, Agnes Nadermann and Jenee Nadermann.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Matthew James; siblings, Peggy Sarris, Mary (Fred) Hooper, Theodore (Venetia), Chris, Pete and Mike Sarris; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Irwin, Elmer (Juanita) Nadermann, Leo (Dorothy) Nadermann, Bud Rauen, Dean Garretson, Fred Smith, Bob Reed, Jake and Bob Nadermann.
Memorials are preferred to St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Beckman Catholic High School, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Sioux City, the American Cancer Society or FBLA at Western Dubuque.
