McNamara, Norma C.
Norma C. McNamara, 81, of West End, N.C., passed away Friday, May 21, 2010, at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, N.C. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Mrs. McNamara was born April 20, 1929, in Malcolm, Iowa, to the late Darwin Smith and Edna (Hubbard) Smith. Mrs. McNamara was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling with family most of her life. She was a former resident of Seven Lakes, N.C., and a member of the West End United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and bowling and had a natural ability for interior design.
She is survived by a son, Jeffrey McNamara and wife Gwen of Dingmans Ferry, Pa.; a daughter, Judy Seldomridge and husband Bill of West End; sisters, Janet Beck of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Carolyn Carsello of Wisconsin Rapids Wis.; five grandchildren, Gene Burton, John Burton, Rebecca Burton, Kirsiah McNamara and Mackenzie McNamara: and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Mcnamara was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas McNamara, of 31 years, in 1981; her parents, Darwin and Edna Smith; and a brother, Norman Smith.
