Thomas J. Shaheen, 62, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, July 21, 2017, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a long illness. Per his wishes, there will be no services. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is caring for Thomas and his family.
Thomas was born Jan. 28, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Donald Leroy and Delores Ann (Skaff) Shaheen. He graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids in 1973. He owned and operated Deli and Brew and Steaks by Thomas for many years. He loved the outdoors, spending time at his cabin with his dog, Ruby, enjoyed the casinos and playing cards (for money).
Thomas is survived by his brother, Drew Shaheen of Arvada, Colo.; sisters, Dionne (Bill) Pinckney and Tracey Shaheen of Cedar Rapids; nephews, Blake (Naomi), Jordan (Aubree) and Adam (Sydney) Pinckney; great-niece, Kya Pinckney; great-nephew, Caber Pinckney; and his special aunt, Jeanette Kellerman of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
