Suspect in Waterloo bank robbery arrested after changing clothes at library

The man suspected of robbing a Waterloo bank Monday morning was arrested at a Cedar Rapids homeless shelter.
Kurtis Michael Culbert, 28, of Waterloo, faces a charge of second-degree robbery, a class C felony, and was being held in the Black Hawk County Jail Tuesday morning on a $100,000 bond.
Police were called to the US Bank branch at 425 Cedar St. in Waterloo at 9:53 a.m. Monday for a bank robbery. According to police, the suspect passed a note reading "This is a robbery, I have a weapon and I need $80."
The teller gave the suspect the money, and he returned to the Waterloo Public Library, where he had reportedly stopped before the robbery. Library surveillance cameras caught the suspect changing clothes. A still image of the suspect was distributed to media outlets, and the suspect was identified and later taken into custody at a homeless shelter in Cedar Rapids.
