Edward L. Biggart, 76, of Marion, formerly of Central City, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services will be held at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Visitation will be Thursday, April 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be Friday, April 28, at 10:30 a.m. Burial: Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Ed is survived by his sweetheart, E. Pearl Samuelson of Marion; his children, Teresa Brantley of Largo, Fla., Lisa (Tony) Buck of Mount Vernon, Laura (Tyson) Held of Osceola, and Roger Biggart of Marion; six grandchildren, Bonnie (Cody) Biggart, Sam Biggart, Kiaya Gardner, Nick Gardner, Marissa Buck and Kenric Anderson; and two sisters, Sharon (Lee) Hollan of Jefferson, Ga., and Barbra Preweda of Winnipeg, Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Christopher and Kenric.
Ed was born Jan. 8, 1941, in Iowa City, to Marcella Kline Kuhn. He was a longtime employee of Quaker Oats, from where he retired. Ed delivered senior meals for the Central City Senior Center for many years. He was an avid Hawkeye and Cubs fan. Ed also enjoyed playing cards and making trips to the casino.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ed's memory.
