Gov. Reynold’s tax plan is a tax shift

In regard to the recent article in The Gazette, Gov. Kim Reynolds wants to increase our sales tax and reduce our property tax. The governor is trying to tell us she is saving us money in property tax by increasing sales tax? This might sound good as it gets, but how much is it saving us? Think of the larger ticket items such as your purchase of automobiles for just one. Every home improvement for another. You expect us to balance our check books and make cuts to survive while you just want to reach around to our wallets to balance your check book?

There are other ways to bring in income to our state. When I was growing up we had to go to the police station and buy a license for your bicycle for $5, but that's a whole other story. So governor, tighten the belt and balance your check book, I'll just take a fist bump instead of that hug.
