Police say Coralville woman struck another woman in face with phone
A North Liberty woman was arrested Monday after allegedly striking a woman in the face with a phone.
According to a police report, the victim told authorities Diane Elizabeth Halter, 54, had hit her in the eye, causing a deep laceration above her right eye and one under left eye, noting the injuries appear to have come from one strike to the face. Police said she had blood all over her face and down her clothing.
Officers located blood on the dining room floor and on the phone, which was lying on the kitchen counter.
Police said the victim said she pays rent at Halter's residence, 70 Holiday Lodge Rd., where the incident occurred.
Halter is charged with assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor.
