Harris, Alexis 'Lexie' Jean
Alexis “Lexie” Jean Harris, 17, of Cedar Rapids, died after a life long illness of West Syndrome on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at her home. Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home.
Survivors include her mother, Gayle (Brant) Astleford; father, Dan Harris; siblings, Lydia Tindell, Daniel Buchanan, Cole Harris, Thomas Johnson and special sister, Kate Harrington; uncles and aunts, Bob DeForest, Julie (Joe) DeForest Barber, Teddie (Kirby) Crabb, Debra Harris, Richard (Gina) Boldt, Chris (Melodye) Boldt and Emily (Todd) Molter; paternal grandfather, Robert Harris; maternal grandfathers, Richard (Suzanne) Lentner and Del Boldt; as well as numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by sister, Kassidy Harris; paternal grandmother, Barbara Harris; and maternal grandmother, Dixie Boldt.
Lexie was born Aug. 15, 1995, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Daniel Harris and Gayle (Brant) Astleford. She was our little firefly and always lit up the room. Lexie was our goose. She loved music, twinkly lights, and going to the Bluesmore Festival.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
